Issy Wyner Leichhardt Mayor and Trade Union Official (now retired)
Location: The ‘Council Office’ at his home in College Street
Issy grew up in Balmain and has spent his entire life on the peninsula. There are two offices in his house today, one devoted to his time on council (this one) and one devoted to his days as a union official.
He holds a file from his time as Mayor:
“I wanted to donate all my papers to the State Library but they didn’t want them. I don’t know what will happen to them now when I’m gone.”
